TL;DR: Use Council AI as your first stop on the AI trip. It gives you a map before you run into a forest full of contradicting answers. Saves you time and sanity—because otherwise, you might get trapped in what I now call the “death spiral” with one AI model. Not fun.
So here’s what happened: I was working on the iPhone app version of my project, trying to display AI responses (from multiple companies) in their original markdown format. Seemed simple enough. “## Title” looked perfect. But when it came to “### Heading” and beyond? Markdown said: nah, I’m out.
Naturally, I dove into Swift’s AttributedString. Looked promising. Had this fancy thing called MarkdownParsingOptions—which sounded like it had its life together. But nope. Headings still didn’t show right. New lines? Also in hiding.
Then came the fateful spiral. I asked ChatGPT for help. It gave me Answer A. Didn’t work. I told it that. It said, “Ah! I see! Try B.” Didn’t work. Then it confidently said, “Thanks for your patience—we’ve cracked it! Try C.” C bombed. Then D. Still no dice. At some point, I felt like we were just naming the alphabet for fun.
After a solid hour of this back-and-forth, I did what any reasonable human would do: walked away to rethink my life choices. As I stepped out, still mildly haunted by rogue markdown headers, I picked up my phone.
The problem was still bugging me, so I asked the same question in Council AI, and BAM—Perplexity (one of the AI council members) dropped a gem: a third-party Swift library called MarkdownUI. I tried it. It worked. Instantly. Like magic.
At that moment, I felt both joy… and the slight sting of an hour I’d never get back. If only I’d asked Council AI first! (Sadly, it’s not on macOS yet—cue tiny violin).
But here’s the takeaway: Council AI helps you avoid getting stuck in a local loop of a single model’s advice. Instead, you get a panoramic view of how multiple top-tier AIs see the problem. If they all say the same thing—cool, you’ve got consensus! If not, you at least get to pick the most promising route before diving in.
Trust the council. They’ve got your back (and your headers).
